Rapid rise of substance use in teenagers and youths in ghetto areas of the country caused by idleness and unemployment.
Exposure to substance within every corner of these communities plays a major role in their involvement with drugs. They are sold to whoever can afford them dispite the age. Many of these youths are turning to drugs to help them cop with stress, toxic relationships, trauma, loss, family conflict, mental health challenges and difficult circumstances such as poverty. In some cases, unemployment and idleness leave young people without a sense of purpose, making them more susceptible to negative influences and harmful coping behaviors.
